This website is operated by NodeMode, the consultancy practice of Norio Ichikawa, based in Tokyo, Japan.

Short version
This site does not set cookies, does not run analytics, and does not use advertising or tracking pixels. It does not build profiles of visitors. The sections below describe the small number of places where data is nonetheless involved.
Information collected directly
None at present. The contact form on this site is not yet connected: it has no submission endpoint and its submit control is disabled, so nothing entered into it is transmitted or stored. When the form is activated, this policy will be updated before it accepts a single submission.
Technical data
Like any website, requests to this site and to the services that deliver its files carry your IP address, browser user-agent, and the page requested. This is inherent to how the web works and is handled by the hosting and content-delivery providers named below.
Server request logs are held by Vercel and Cloudflare, each under its own retention policy rather than one set by NodeMode.
Analytics
Vercel Web Analytics, and nothing else. It sets no cookies and stores no IP address. Visitors are counted using a hash derived from the incoming request, which is discarded after 24 hours, so there is no tracking across days or across sites. What it records is aggregate: page views, referrer, country, browser, and operating system. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight Tag, and no tag manager. Vercel Inc. is a United States company.
Embedded video
Project films are hosted on Vimeo. They are deliberately loaded behind a click-to-play facade: until you press play, no request is made to Vimeo and Vimeo receives nothing about your visit. Once you press play, Vimeo receives your IP address and sets its own cookies under Vimeo's privacy policy, over which we have no control.
Some films are served directly from this site instead, and those involve no third party at all.
Hosting and content delivery
Project images are delivered from Sanity's image CDN (sanity.io), which receives your IP address when an image loads. Every other image is served from this site's own domain.
Typefaces are self-hosted from this site's own domain at build time, so no request is made to Google Fonts or any other font service.
This site is hosted on Vercel (Vercel Inc., United States) and served through Cloudflare's network. Requests from Japan are currently answered from Vercel's Tokyo region. Both companies receive your IP address, which is unavoidable in delivering a page to you.
Why data is processed
Solely to deliver this website and keep it available and secure. No data is used for marketing, profiling, automated decision-making, or sale to third parties.
Your rights
Because this site holds no personal data about you, there is generally nothing to access, correct, or delete. If that changes when the contact form is activated, you will be able to request access to, correction of, or deletion of anything you submitted, by writing to the address above.
Children
This is a professional portfolio and consultancy site. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.

This site links to external services and client work. Those destinations have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated whenever the site's data handling changes, in particular before the contact form or any analytics is switched on. The effective date below always reflects the current version.
